iDrop at the British Airways i360 FAQ

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we only accept bookings in advance for the iDrop so please book online beforehand. Sometimes there are places available up to the day of an iDrop so it is worth checking the website for availability, even if it’s last minute!

Are there any restrictions?

To complete the British Airways i360 iDrop you must be over 14 years old.  Under 18 year olds require parental consent via an online waiver form and must be supervised by an adult during their participation in the iDrop.  There is no upper age limit as long as you are fit and healthy.

There is a weight limit of 19 stone and you must be able to fit in the harnesses. If you are pregnant, unfortunately you cannot take part in the iDrop.  Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.

We require prior notice before booking in guests with disabilities (min. 2 weeks), so that we can cater appropriately for their requirements.

Please note that all tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable so it is important to familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions before purchase.

For further information please email info@wireandsky.co.uk

What are the opening times?

Generally we operate from 6.30am to 10am or 6pm to 10pm. For individual bookings please check the availability in the bookings section of our website (click on ‘Book this experience’).  For group bookings, please email info@wireandsky.co.uk for availability information.

What should I wear?

Your shoulders, midriff and upper legs should be covered. No loose clothing please e.g. long skirts or flowing cardigans. On your feet wear closed toe shoes, trainers or boots that will not fall off. Open toe shoes, flipflops, sandals or high heels are not permitted.

Long hair must be tied back. Jewellery and scarves must be removed. Weather at the top of the British Airways i360 is often magnified, so bring a waterproof jacket and warm layer. Fancy dress may be permitted but please see fancy dress FAQ for more info.

What time should I arrive?

Customers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled iDrop slot (the time should be on your ticket).  Arriving after the scheduled start time means you may not be able to participate and will not be entitled to a refund. There will be no compensation paid for consequential losses or other expenses of a related nature.

What happens in bad weather?

We constantly monitor the weather situation and will keep you updated in advance if we feel that the weather may affect your event. We reserve the right to postpone the iDrop due to bad weather (strong winds, heavy rain, electric storms) for safety reasons.

If your iDrop has been cancelled due to bad weather, we will endeavour to reschedule your participation to a time that is suitable to you. Alternatively, if you cannot return, we will issue you a refund, or if you used a Gift Card, we will reactivate your voucher code.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please bring an electronic version of your booking confirmation email (this can be printed if you prefer).  Also, bring some warm items and a waterproof jacket if the weather is forecast to be cold. Any problems, please contact info@wireandsky.co.uk.

Is there somewhere to keep my belongings?

Unfortunately there aren’t any lockers available to put your personal belongings in.  You can either bring them up into the pod or leave them with family/friends who are supporting you. Any belongings left in the pod will only be retrievable once the session has ended and the pod has returned to ground level.

Can I bring spectators?

Spectators are welcome at the British Airways i360.

Please note that there is an exclusion zone around the actual landing site and entry by public is strictly forbidden for safety reasons.

Unfortunately spectators are not allowed in the actual pod but there is an open air space linked to the cafe at the bottom where you can spectate from.

How do I get there?

The British Airways i360 is located on the beach front in Brighton.  Please click here for specific instructions on getting there.

Can children participate?

The experience is limited to people aged 14 and over. Under 18 year olds require parental consent and adult supervision. Unfortunately children under the age of 14 years old will not be allowed to take part.

Is the iDrop accessible for disabled guests?

We aim to make the abseils as accessible as possible. Email us to discuss your requirements with us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.  Please note that we do require prior notice for disabled guest bookings (minimum 2 weeks).

What if I change my mind?

Our instructors are used to helping participants experiencing high levels of anxiety. They will support you to the best of their ability and give you positive encouragement to get over the edge. Unfortunately, if you do change your mind on the day, we would not be able to issue a refund or give you another opportunity at a later time or date.

Will a photographer be present on the day?

We currently do not have a dedicated photographer but if you own a GoPro camera, we now have the option for you to bring this along and record your iDrop for a fee of £5 – this can be paid at the time of booking or on the day. Please read the T&Cs in full if you would like to bring your own GoPro as this outlines the exact equipment requirements.
